Ce n'est pas une vie que de ne pas bouger

Portrait Alexandre YersinCe n'est pas une vie que de ne pas bouger

Adventurer, doctor, saviour, explorer... but almost unknown. It's No Life at All if you Undertake Nothing tells the extraordinary story of Alexandre Yersin (1863-1943), the unsung Swiss hero who effectively saved Europe and Asia from the plague. The hardship of the high seas wasn't enough to keep this restless soul from further adventures. Soon he was venturing into the remote highlands of Indochina. Then: his ground-breaking achievement in 1894 against all odds - finding a cure for bubonic plague, which carries his name (Yersinia Pestis). He's revered in the East, but unheard of in the West. This colourful, thoughtful film explains why that should no longer be the case. A film on the search for his traces.
