In the remote Zanskar Valley, high in the Himalayan mountains, lies Phuktal Monastery – a spiritual retreat that has watched over this rugged region since the 14th century

The film takes viewers on a visually striking journey to this unique place, shaped by spiritual significance, cultural richness, and a fragile vulnerability. Climate change and the increasing frequency of rockfalls are threatening the monastery, which is built into the cliffs. Parts of the structure have already been destroyed, monks have lost their lives, and the constant danger of further collapses weighs heavily on the community.

The film not only documents the challenges but also the hope and determination of the monks to preserve this extraordinary site.
